What is the reason if the blade breaks?

In the rarest cases it is due to material defects, mostly it is due to improper use, such as cutting bones, opening cans, or similar.

How do I care for my Felix knives properly?

FELIX knives are sharp. And they are sharp for a long time. Depending on the frequency of use, the sharpness of a blade decreases with time. Professionals and hobby cooks take off their knives before and after each use, i.e. sharpen their knives regularly. With a little practice, even amateurs can do this. Of course you can also send us your FELIX knives for sharpening at any time. This service is inexpensive and ensures that your knives are as new after sharpening.

High-quality knife blades made of blade steel are sensitive to food residues and to cleaning in the dishwasher. Moreover, the blades become dull when cleaned in the dishwasher. Clean your knives by hand. After use, simply rinse briefly with warm water, dry, and you're done. Additional protection for the blade is achieved by using camellia oil. The antibacterial knife care cloth with silver molecules also cares for and protects the knife blade.

Wood is a living natural material and loves a little care. Rub the wooden handles of your knives with a few drops of oil from time to time. We recommend linseed oil. In This way the wood retains its original beauty and individual charisma.

How do I store my Felix kitchen knives correctly?

As the knives are not in permanent use in the kitchen, we recommend proper storage, for example in a knife block or on a magnetic knife holder. Form and material are a question of the kitchen equipment, the space available and personal taste. All Felix knife blocks and knife holders are made of high-quality materials, are carefully processed, easy to clean and durable.

Can Felix knives be put in the dishwasher?

Basically, high-quality kitchen knives do not belong in the dishwasher.

The blades become dull in the dishwasher. In addition, the cleaning salts can cause serious damage to the blades, rivets and handles.

How can I sharpen my Felix kitchen knife?

1) with a sharpening steel

Hold the sharpening steel about an arm's length from your body. Then pull

place the knife vertically at an angle of approx. 15 -20° over the steel. Guide the knife both sides of the knife 5 - 10 times alternately from the shank to the tip over the entire length of the steel. After sharpening, please rinse the sharpening steel and the knife with clear water and dry them.

2) with a whetstone
